San Lorenzo Valley Community Band

The San Lorenzo Valley Community Band brings together volunteers from all walks of life who share a passion for making music together. We're especially proud that our membership includes both current students and alumni of San Lorenzo Valley High School, creating a multigenerational musical community. Our section principals provide musical leadership within their instrumental groups.

Our Conductor

Nicki Kerns has conducted the community band since 2019. In addition to her work with the band she is actively involved in many local theater programs as music and vocal director. She holds a Master's in Music Education from Boston University as well as a piano performance degree from Dominican College of San Rafael. In addition to conducting the band, she is a piano teacher specializing in beginners and intermediates with an emphasis on theory, improvisation, and duets.
