We're always looking for enthusiastic musicians to join our all volunteer community band! Whether you're returning to music after years away or have been playing continuously, our welcoming ensemble provides a supportive environment to make music together. Our members come from a wide cross section of Santa Cruz County. Most members live in the San Lorenzo Valley communities of Felton, Ben Lomond, Mt. Hermon, and Boulder Creek, or come from Santa Cruz neighborhoods.

We welcome musicians who play standard concert band instruments, are comfortable with sight-reading, and possess skills at least equivalent to an advanced high school band student. No formal audition is required—simply bring your instrument and your passion for music!

While musicians of all instruments are welcome, we're particularly seeking players for:

The San Lorenzo Valley Community Band asks members to commit to attending all rehearsals. However, we understand that it is not always possible and ask that you let the conductor or band manager know if you will be unable to attend a rehearsal or concert. Additionally, to cover the costs of insurance for our rental of the music room and to purchase sheet music, we ask that all members pay membership dues for each season.
